Hamdard Laboratories (WAQF) Bangladesh has inaugurated a free medical camp on the Ijtema ground in Tongi for the second phase of Ijtema that will begin on Friday.
Md Faridul Haque Khan, state minister for the Religious Affairs Ministry was the chief guest of the inauguration programme chaired by WAQF Managing Director and Chief Mutawalli Dr Hakim Md Yusuf Harun Bhuiyan, said a press release.
WAQF also installed a free medical camp during the first phase of Ijtema that was held from January 13-15.
Marking the event, Md Faridul Haque said “Hamdard has been operating its humanitarian activity responding to the call of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for development. Through its humanitarian works for the past 41 years, Hamdard has placed a unique example of welfare for all other organisations.”
Dr Hakim said “Hamdard has been working for the wellbeing of religious worshipers in Ijtema since 1983 which still continues. With the encouragement of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we are still providing educational and health services to hundreds of people across the country.” This service will gain more speed in the upcoming days, he hoped.
Islamic Foundation Director General (Addl Secretary) Munim Hasan, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur, Hamdard Foundation Director Lt Col Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury (Retired) and Distribution Manager Mohammad Shariful Islam were present at the event, among others.
