A courtesy call on Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi was arranged by the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) at his office on Sunday.
During the courtesy call, the JBCCI delegation members introduced themselves and discussed briefly on enhancing trade and investments between Japan and Bangladesh, said a press statement.
The JBCCI delegation members were Vice President M Jalalul Hai, Secretary General Md Anwar Shahid, Treasurer Tadaoki Watanabe, Joint Treasurer Maria Howlader, Advisors Matiur Rahman, Md Shariful Alam, Directors Mohammed Sohel, Saori Fujimoto, Nayeemur Rahman and Executive Director Md Emran.
In the meeting, Hikari Kawai explained briefly about JBCCI and its contribution to promote bilateral trade relation between Japan and Bangladesh.
In his remarks, he emphasised on the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Japan and Bangladesh and mentioned that JBCCI formed a standing committee on EPA to collect relevant information.
Tipu Munshi appreciated JBCCI’s directors to attend this courtesy meeting and thanked JBCCI for discuss on EPA matters with him and showing interest to work together which will bring positive results for both countries.
