Robi Axiata Limited, the second largest mobile network operator in Bangladesh, has awarded top 10 innovative ideas coming from the young, curious minds of the country under the online campaign titled ‘Tomar Chokhe Agamir Bangladesh’.

The initiative, which was launched on Victory Day last year as part of Robi’s 25 years milestone celebration, provided children across the country an opportunity to come up with ideas about future Bangladesh based on innovation and digitisation, according to a press release.

An award giving ceremony was arranged in this regard at the Robi corporate office on Wednesday where winners were awarded crests, certificates and other attractive prizes.

Robi’s Chief Commercial Officer Shihab Ahmad, founder and CEO of 10 Minute School Ayman Sadiq and senior officials of Robi were present on the occasion.

The campaign received overwhelming response from the participants with a total submission of more than 1,300 innovative ideas. In selecting the best ideas, priority was given to the innovative thinking, technology integration and solving capacity of the idea in the context of societal or daily life problems.

Among the thousands of ideas received, the first prize was given to Samihat Taspia Rumaisa for her idea of a device that will automatically notify nearest health centers and police stations upon occurrence of road accidents.

The second prize went to Shamsul Islam Tanim for his idea to create an innovative rechargeable dictation pen which will help other differently-abled children like him by converting voice commands to text.

At the event, Shihab Ahmad said, “The young generation is the main driving force of our digital future. I strongly believe that if we can pave the way for the youth with more suitable opportunities and resources, they will create the future in a way that we can only dream of today. Robi will continue to invest on skill development for the country’s future driving force for envisioning Smart Bangladesh.”

Upon completion of 25 years of its journey on November 15, 2022, Robi reinstated its vision as a future ready brand that enables innovative digital solutions to give new experience in people’s lives. The company also announced a commitment of investing up to Tk 25 million on R-ventures 3.0, its flagship digital entrepreneurship platform.
