Walton gets two awards at DITF

Walton, one of the leading local electronic brands, received the ‘Best Innovation Award’ and ‘Best Electronics Stall Award’ at the 27th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) that concluded last month.

The awards were handed over to Walton representatives at the concluding ceremony of the DITF held at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in the Capital’s Purbachal area on Tuesday, said a press release.

A total of 47 organisations were awarded under 14 categories at the event presided over by Commerce Ministry’s Senior Additional Secretary Md Hafizur Rahman.

Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi attended the function as the chief guest while Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) Senior Vice-President Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu were special guests.

DIFT organiser, Commerce Ministry and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) introduced the ‘Innovation Award’ this year while Walton secured the first prize.

Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Deputy Managing Directors, Eva Rizwana Nilu and Md Humayun Kabir received the crests and certificates from the guests.

After introducing the highest VAT payer award category at the DITF, Walton has been receiving the award for 14 consecutive years. Moreover, almost every year, Walton secured the best stall award by making an eye-catching stall at the DITF.

At the 27th DITF, Walton’s eco-friendly sustainable smart appliances with advanced and innovative features drew the attention of domestic and foreign visitors.

These products include Walton’s smart refrigerator, smart television, smart air conditioner, smart table, smart washing machine, elevator, smartphone, computer products, and different digital devices, including Walton’s new product e-bike. Upcoming models of next-generation innovative sustainable green technology products were displayed at the Walton stall. Along with electronics, Walton also displayed various industrial solutions including LGP, LDP, nuts, bolts, screw.

The trade fair has been organised at Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center at Purbachal since last year.
