United Healthcare offers month-long free cancer screening

United Healthcare services launched a month-long free cancer screening and other medical services marking ‘World Cancer Day’ at the premises of United Hospital in Gulshan, United Medical College and Hospital in Satarkul, MA Rashid Hospital in Jamalpur and Medix in Dhanmondi.

The free medical services were launched on Saturday to raise awareness and encourage early detection of cancer, said a press release.

Interested people have been encouraged to get checked and analyze any potential signs of cancer at its early stages. About one-third of cancers are curable with early detection and proper treatment. The initiative highlights United Healthcare’s commitment to provide high quality healthcare and support to the community.

MA Rashid Hospital (Jamalpur) arranged a health camp on Saturday while United Medical College and Hospital in Satarkul will hold a health camp on Monday from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm and Medix will hold the free screening on February 12 from 10 am to 2:00 pm.

Anyone can participate in the free cancer screening programme, which examines physical symptoms and family history of cancer to determine whether cancer is present or potential. People can also seek the guidance of knowledgeable doctors regarding the next treatment measures if necessary during the campaign.
