A delegation of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) met Financial Reporting Council (FRC) Chairman Prof Dr Md Hamid Ullah Bhuiyan at his office in Agargaon on Tuesday.
The delegation led by ICMAB President Md Abdur Rahman Khan discussed different issues of mutual interests including the enlistment of CMA firms, said a press statement.
ICMAB delegation also raised their concerns over the illegal operations of so-called CMA Australia in Bangladesh, as no professional accounting institution can operate in Bangladesh except ICMAB and ICAB as per the Financial Reporting Act, 2015 and the CMA Act, 2018.
ICMAB delegates sought assistance from FRC for the implementation and extension of Cost Audits and the inclusion of CMA firms in different kinds of incentives audits for the greater interest of the country.
Both ICMAB and FRC expressed their firm commitment to working together in establishing transparency and accountability of the public interest entities in Bangladesh.
Mohammed Salim, former president of ICMAB and Council Member Md Kausar Alam, Secretary SM Zahir Uddin Haider, and council members Mohammed Jahangir Alam and Mirza Mostafa Walid were present at the meeting.
