Primeasia University observes Int’l Mother Language Day

Primeasia University observed International Mother Language Day and paid tribute to the 1952 language martyrs at the Central Shaheed Minar on Tuesday.

The event was chaired by Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Nurunnabi Mollah while Raihan Azad, vice chairman of the University Board of Trustees was present as the chief guest, said a press statement.

Besides, the university also held a discussion programme where university Chief Advisor, Commodore (retired) Jobair Ahmed, Policy and Development Advisor Suzadur Rahman, University Treasurer Prof Dr Iffat Jahan and Registrar Brigadier General (Retd) Kazi ASM Arif spoke, among others.

The discussion meeting highlighted the history of the language movement and paid tribute to the sacrifice of the language martyrs.

The inaugural speech was delivered by Professor Dr Shumoy Dutta, dean of the School of Science.

Faculty members, students, and staff from various faculties attended the event to pay their respects to the martyrs of the language movement.

The observance of International Mother Language Day by Primeasia University reflects the university's commitment to preserving the legacy of the language martyrs and honouring their sacrifices for future generations.
