Post and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said that today’s students are the future soldiers of smart and digital Bangladesh.
“Scraping the colonial educational system, students should get education in line with the digital era”, he said as the chief guest in a discussion programme at BTCL Ideal School in the Maghbazar area.
The programme chaired by Post and Telecommunications Ministry Secretary Abu Hena Morshed, was organised to mark International Mother Language Day on Tuesday.
“Our children of the new generation are capable of achieving unprecedented successes; if they get appropriate education”, he added.
“Before 1971, Pakistani, English, Mughal and other foreign powers have ruled this region and all of them tried to impose their language on Bengali people but failed”, the minister said. He also focused on the implementation of the Bangla language in higher education and the High Court.
Before that, the minister placed a floral tribute to the language martyrs of the 1952 Language Movement at Shaheed Minar of BTCL Ideal School ground and distributed prizes among the winners of a painting competition.
