The Center for Peace Studies (CPS) of the South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance (SIPG), North South University (NSU) celebrated its 3rd Anniversary on Monday.
Marking the occasion, CPS has organised a number of events, including SIPG Policy Debate-1 on ‘alternative to student politics to maintain a peaceful environment on university campuses’ in collaboration with NSU Debate Club.
The debate programme, moderated by Omar Nasif Abdullah, Faculty, Adviser, NSU Debate Club, began at 11:00am at NSU Law Moot Court.
The judges were Dr Abdun Noor Tushar, a debater, and media personality, and Parisa Shakur, member of CPS.
In the second part of the program, CPS screened a movie named ‘Hotel Rwanda’ at 2:00pm in Audi 801. It was free for all the NSU students and they enjoyed the movie.
The Center for Peace Studies (CPS) was founded in 2020 with the aim to facilitate the academic study of peacebuilding and the promotion of a resilient society through evidence-based and empirical research under the SIPG of NSU. CPS is a platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners from various academic backgrounds to collaborate to create a peaceful world.
