ULAB introduces Bangla and Literature Department

The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) has introduced Bangla and Literature Department.

In a first in the country, the university is now set to teach ethnic minority languages, according to a press statement.

In an event titled as “Prothom Agomoni Gaan”, President of The Bangla Academy, Selina Hossain announced the beginning of the Department.

Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed was present on the occasion as the chief guest while Selina Hossain, president of the Bangla Academy, was the special guest.

Addressing students on the occasion, Abdullah Abu Sayeed said, “If we practice Bangla, then you should be ready to do the necessary sacrifices in order to take Bangla to a new height. Only then you will succeed by studying in Bangla.”

ULAB’s Board of Trustee’s special advisor, Prof Shamsad Mortuza said, “Our English and Bangla Department will work in correlation. The knowledge Bangla department practices will also be published in English. Our students can study media studies or business or international relations whatever they may want. This practice doesn’t limit knowledge.”
