Syed Alamgir joins Meghna Group as CEO of FMCG dept

Syed Alamgir has joined Meghna Group of Industries, one of the largest industrial conglomerates of the country, as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) department.

Previously, he served as the Managing Director and CEO of Akij Ventures Group, Executive Director of ACI Foods, ACI Pure Flour Limited, ACI Salt, ACI Consumer Brands and board member of different companies including ACI Foreign Joint Ventures, said a press statement.

He started his professional journey in the British Pharmaceutical Company, May & Baker after completing his study from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA). Later, he joined as Marketing Director in Jamuna Group in 1992. He also received PhD degree from the University of Newcastle in USA.

Syed Alamgir received numerous recognitions including the Channel I Marketing Superstar Award for his outstanding contribution in country’s marketing sector in 2019. He is an eminent member of Private Sector Advisory Board of United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

Alamgir is also serving as President of Bangladesh Vacuum Salt Manufacturers’ Association, Bangladesh Sanitary Napkin and Diapers Manufacturers’ Association, MBA Association of Bangladesh, Bangladesh-Greece Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI).
