Uber, the leading ridesharing app, on Thursday launched ‘Uber Rentals’ service in Sylhet to provide a personalised rider experience with affordable multi-hour, multi-stop options.
Using Uber Rentals, riders can book a car and its driver for several hours and make multiple stops on a journey across the Sylhet district, said a press release.
The service will be available both for Sedan and XL cars, at an affordable price point of Tk 600 for a 2-hour/20-km package. Riders will have the option to choose from multiple hourly packages that can be booked up to a maximum of 12 hours/160 Km.
Commenting on the new service, Armanur Rahman, head of Uber Bangladesh and East India, said, “We are excited to expand and bring one of our highly desired products to Sylhet. Uber Rentals caters to the specific needs of our customers by allowing them to book an Uber for multiple hours with flexible and cost-effective packages while giving them the option to make multiple stops during their journey.”
Using Uber Rentals is as easy as booking any other Uber trip. Riders only need to update their Uber app to the latest version if they are not able to see ‘Uber Rentals.’
Uber began its journey in Bangladesh in November 2016 with car services in Dhaka, and launched its motorcycle services within one year, making the country one of the most important markets for the ride-hailing giant. Gradually, the company expanded its operations to Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet.
As Bangladesh aims to transition from a least developed country and receive official developing country status by 2024, Uber remains committed to Bangladesh’s socio-economic growth by creating livelihood opportunities for hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshis.
