UIU observes birth anniversary of Bangabandhu

United International University (UIU) recently celebrated the 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children's Day in a programme on the campus

UIU authorities also unveiled a book titled “Bangabandhu and Digital Bangladesh” at the event on March 18 where University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) Member Prof Dr Muhammad Alamgir was present as the chief guest, according to a press release.

The speakers at the event said that research and technological development can ensure the sustainable development of a nation. To achieve Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla and transform digital Bangladesh into an innovative Bangladesh; it is important for a country like Bangladesh to prioritise technological innovation and research for reaching Smart Bangladesh and meeting various development goals set by Bangabandhu to achieve Sonar Bangla, they said.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU) VC Prof Dr Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam and University of Asia Pacific (UAP) VC Prof Dr Qumrul Ahsan were present as the special guests while Prof Dr Mohammad Musa, dean of the School of Business and Economics at UIU was present as the key speaker.
