Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) will operate three mobile courts daily during the holy month of Ramadan in Dhaka metropolitan areas aiming to ensure quality, quantity and proper standard of essential commodities.
The announcement of BSTI’s special mobile court operations was made by the Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun in a press briefing at the conference room of the Industries Ministry in Dhaka on Wednesday, said a press release. The holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims engage in self-purification through fasting and abstinence will begin on Friday.
BSTI will also strengthen its regular surveillance ahead of Ramadan and also operate mobile courts at Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Tangail, Narshingdi, Gazipur, Kishoreganj, Savar, Keraniganj and all Upazilas of the Dhaka division.
Moreover, joint mobile courts along with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will be operated to control the price hike of daily essentials in the local markets.
