China has recently donated the first smart classroom with the latest smart education solution from Huawei at Chandpur Government Technical School and College in Shologhar of Chandpur under a friendship project for talent development.

The smart classroom will allow the teachers and students to have advanced onsite and online teaching and study platforms. The inauguration ceremony for this pilot project was organised recently at the college on March 18 where Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni was present as the chief guest, said a press release.

The smart classroom solutions include two Idea Hubs (Huawei’s Interactive Whiteboard) whole classroom WIFI coverage, and online learning platforms with abundant ICT course-related materials like videos, online courses and educational content for Chandpur Government Technical School and College.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen was the special guest at the event where the CEO of Huawei South Asia, Pan Junfeng; Principle of Chandpur Government Technical School and College Md Mahbubur Rahman and other high officials were present.

Praising the initiative, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said, “The use of technology within these smart classrooms will enable enhanced learning experiences for students; equip them with crucial ICT skills. I believe this project will facilitate the learners to eventually take Bangladesh to great heights.”

Chinese envoy Yao Wen said, “As a good friend and good neighbour of Bangladesh, the Chinese government and people have regarded education as one of the key areas of bilateral cooperation. China is also one of the top destinations for Bangladeshi students to study. Cumulatively, over 14,000 Bangladeshi students are studying in China. The Chinese embassy has initiated the Higher Vocational Education Programme with Education Ministry in Bangladesh since the year of 2018.”

“We will provide more opportunities for Bangladeshi students to study in China and further deepen the friendship between the two countries. On the other hand, Chinese enterprises like Huawei have diligently undertaken corporate social responsibilities (CSR) in this country to improve people’s well-being and promote social development in Bangladesh. This smart classroom is another cooperation between two countries and a contribution of Huawei to Bangladesh under the testimony to expand.”

Huawei South Asia CEO Pan Junfeng said, “China-Bangladesh Friendship Donation Project holds the potential to revolutionize education in Bangladesh. A smart classroom is a concept that uses technologies to enable enhanced learning experiences for students.”
