Coca-Cola partners with Bidyanondo to serve 4,000 meals daily

In celebration of Ramadan and to spread the spirit of giving and gratitude, Coca-Cola has joined hands with the Bidyanondo Foundation, a prominent social welfare NGO, aiming to serve 100,000 meals among underprivileged people in Dhaka, Chattogram and Rajshahi.

The campaign titled, “Share a meal together” started on the first Ramadan and will continue till the 25th of Ramadan. Under the campaign, a total of 4,000 meals will be shared every day across Dhaka, Chattogram and Rajshahi, according to a press release.

Coca-Cola Bangladesh Managing Director Ta Duy Tung said “In a time when the world is facing unprecedented challenges, we believe, it is more important than ever to come together and support one another. The ‘Share a Meal Together’ campaign has been planned to make a difference in our community, especially in the month of Ramadan.”

In addition to sharing 4000 meals every day, the campaign will host special iftar table events on 5 different days throughout the month in Dhaka, Chattogram and Rajshahi, targeting to invite people from different backgrounds and have iftar together in large setups.

This campaign is to promote the idea of breaking down barriers and promoting unity between different groups of people. They can choose to be a part of these events as a volunteer or as a guest at their preferred locations.

Coca-Cola has been in Bangladesh for over 60 years and is positively impacting the lives of millions of people in Bangladesh through initiatives which ensure safe water and sanitation, and economic empowerment of women. It also donated Tk 11.5 crore for Covid relief measures and waste collection programmes to improve the lives of waste workers.

Meanwhile, Bidyanondo Foundation is registered under the Bangladesh Department of Social Services, which works to help the poor community and performs various social welfare activities. This organisation was founded by Kishor Kumar Das in 2013 and focuses on the education and feeding of street children. As of 2020, it operated 12 branches that provided basic literacy, educational supplies, food, and other essentials to more than 2,000 children.
