LABCCI team calls on Brazilian envoy to explore business opportunities

The Board of Directors of the Latin America-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LABCCI) met the Brazilian Ambassador to Bangladesh Paulo Fernando Dias Feres at his office on Tuesday aiming to explore trade and investment opportunities.

LABCCI President Md Anwar Shawkat Afser also announced a trade delegation that will visit Brazil from July 14-19 this year, according to a press release.

The delegation will be led by the Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Lokman Hossain Miah.

During the visit, B2B and networking seminar will be held on agriculture, food processing, the textile sector, processing plant for soya beans, sunflower, iron ores, petroleum oils, fertilizer, RMG, wood log, export of jute, leather and pharmaceuticals, etc.

The delegation will be aiming to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) which may be a great opportunity for the businessmen of Latin America to invest in the potential sectors in Bangladesh.

The team would try to explore and promote Bangladeshi products and services to the Latin America region and also to promote business from Latin America to the emerging Bangladesh market.

At the meeting, Paulo Fernando Dias Feres assured necessary cooperation and said “As a friend of Bangladesh, Brazil will ease the business environment for Bangladeshis.”

From LABCCI, Md Shahid Alam, senior vice president; Md Sayem Faroky, joint secretary and Directors Md Shakawat Hossain Mamun; Jobayer Ahmed; Engineer Razeeb Haider; Nizamuddin Mahmood Hossain; Noafel Bin Reza; Md Zahirul Kayum; Meherun Nessa Islam were present in the event.
