MM Enamul Haque, Chairman of Amin Mohammad Group, passed away on Saturday night in Dhaka at the age of 64.
Haque breathed his last at his Gulshan residence around 11:18 pm. He left behind his wife, two sons, one daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
He was buried at Banani graveyard after namaz-e-janaza held at Gulshan Society Mosque at 10:00 am on Sunday, said Gazi Ahmed Ullah, publisher of Shomoyer Alo, a publication of Amin Mohammad Group.
“Before janaza, Haque’s sons Ramzanul Haque Nihad and Aminul Haque Nabil urged all to pray for the departed soul of their father,” said Gazi Ahmed Ullah.
Enamul Haque was born on December 1, 1958 in Dakshin Medenimandal village under Louhajang upazila of Munshiganj district. He established Amin Mohammad Group, one of the country’s leading housing companies.
Since 1993, Amin Mohammad Group, a self-built company of MM Enamul Haque, has been working towards solving the housing problems facing the people of the country, carrying out social responsibilities, expanding business and trade, creating employment and skilled workforce.
He was one of the pioneers of the housing industry sector in Bangladesh. He also debuted as a media entrepreneur. He built many mosques, madrasas, orphanages and charitable institutions to spread Islam. He also made massive contributions to the country’s employment. The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has expressed profound shock at the death of Haque.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family,” FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin said in a condolence message. Haque was a general council member of FBCCI.
Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan has also expressed deep shock at the death of MM Enamul Haque.
In a condolence message, he said, “On behalf of Bashundhara Group, I express deep sorrow at the demise of Amin Mohammad Group Chairman Alhaj MM Enamul Haque and convey sympathy to the bereaved family members. The life, ideals and works of Enamul Haque will be a source of inspiration to the new generation. I pray for the salvation of the departed soul.”
