Setting a unique example of community service, Hamdard Laboratories (WAQF) Bangladesh has recently distributed iftar and Rooh Afza among the people who got stuck in traffic congestion in different areas of the capital.
Hamdard has been distributing iftar among hundreds of people since the first day of holy Ramadan in the city’s Gulistan, Banglamotor, Kawran Bazar, Mirpur, Dhanmondi and other important areas, said a press release.
Hamdard, the institution of medicine dedicated to health care and education, has been doing this social work for the last 50 years during Ramadan.
On the occasion, Dr Hakim Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan, managing director and chief mutawalli of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh and founder of Hamdard University Bangladesh, said “Hamdard is always dedicated to providing service when people need. Not only in Dhaka, Hamdard has been distributing medicines through free medical campaigns across the country and serving underprivileged people by establishing schools, colleges, madrasas and hospitals in different places.”
