BCMEA re-elects Shirajul as president, Irfan general secretary

Md Shirajul Islam Mollah, managing director (MD) of China Bangla Ceramic Industries Limited, has been re-elected as president of the Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BCMEA) for the fourth consecutive term for 2023-2024.

Irfan Uddin, director of FARR Ceramics Limited, has also been re-elected as general secretary of BCMEA for the same tenure, according to a press release on Wednesday.

Moynul Islam, the vice-chairman of Monno Ceramic Ind Ltd, was re-elected as senior vice-president. Md Mamunur Rashid, additional MD of Monalisa Ceramic (BD) Ltd, was also elected as senior vice-president for the same tenure.

The BCMEA election was held on Monday in line with the Trade Organisations Act. Election board chairman Mohammed Humayun Kabir and member Mahbub-Ur-Rahman were present.

The newly elected vice-presidents are Ruslan Nasir, deputy MD of Mir Ceramic Ltd, Abdul Hakim Sumon, MD of Excellent Tiles Industries Ltd, Tanvir Ahmed, MD of Sheltech Ceramics Ltd, and Sifat E Arman, director of BHL Ceramics Co Ltd.

Other newly elected BCMEA directors are SM Faruqi Hasan, chairman of Protik Fine Ceramics Ltd, Md Shamsul Huda, MD of Great Wall Ceramic Industries Ltd, Farian Yousuf, MD of Paragon Ceramic Industries Limited, and Ayesha Sanaa Asif Tabani, director of Mirpur Ceramic Works Ltd.
