Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh on Tuesday distributed iftar and concentrated squash Rooh Afza among the traders who were depreciated due to the recent incident of fire at Bangabanzar in Dhaka.

Hamdard always stands beside the victims during different accidents with sympathy and service with the leadership of Dr Hakim Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan, managing director and chief mutawalli of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh and founder of Hamdard University Bangladesh, according to a press release.

Meanwhile, firefighters are still struggling to douse the flame in Bangabazar even after 28 hours, although the fire department confirmed bringing the fire under control on Tuesday afternoon. Twelve firefighting units were working to douse the blaze on Wednesday. The fire that started early Tuesday might have sparked from one of the fabric warehouses, according to the firefighters.

Dr Hakim Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan said “We are deeply compassionate about the fire victims of Bangabazar incident and trying to stand beside them with our highest level of capacity and hopefully will continue the support in the upcoming days.”

Not only in accidental cases, but Hamdard is also distributing medicines through free medical campaigns across the country and serving underprivileged people by establishing schools, colleges, madrasas and hospitals in different places, he stated.
