World Health Organization (WHO) has assured to provide technical support for installing a Covid-19 vaccine plant in Bangladesh and supplying an adequate amount of vaccine for booster doses.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus came up with the commitment in a meeting with Health Minister Zahid Maleque at WHO headquarters on Thursday, reads a press release.
WHO will also assist in getting accreditation for the Lab of Drug Administration Authority, Tedros said.
During the meeting, they also discussed WHO’s next regional election. Health Minister also urged the WHO DG to visit Bangladesh and he assured him to visit Bangladesh shortly.
Besides, a round-table discussion was held on ‘Health workforce investment’ on April 5, where Zahid Maleque stressed ensuring a proper environment for health workers to provide health services.
He also focused on their training, job security, intensive, ensuring proper equipment and missionaries, job satisfaction, and proper security at the meeting.
At the round-table discussion, speakers lauded Bangladesh for successfully controlling Covid-19 and operating the vaccination campaign.
