ICMAB holds freshers’ orientation

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) held a colourful orientation programme for the newly admitted students of the January – June 2023 session at Ruhul Quddus Auditorium in Nilkhet of Dhaka on April 11.

ICMAB Executive Director Muhammad Abdullah welcomed all the newly admitted students, council members, and others at the programme and briefly described the institute and its objective of promoting and regulating the Cost and Management Accounting profession in the country, reads a press release.

Prof Dr Mohammad Zakaria Masud, director of the Academic Affairs Division of ICMAB took a session on academic briefing and explained the value of CMA education as one of the top-ranked professional qualifications and why it is distinguished from general education. Zillur Rahman, DGM (Finance and Accounts), Healthcare Pharmaceuticals presented a well-formed presentation, Pathway to CMA.

SM Zahir Uddin Haider, a member of the Education Committee of ICMAB, spoke on CMA education whereas Mohammed Jahangir Alam, chairman of the Students Affairs Committee, Council Member presented a short presentation on how to become a successful CMA.

ICMAB President, Md Abdur Rahman Khan answered a few queries of the new entrants. ICMAB is a member of different world accounting organisations including IFAC, CAPA and SAFA and is also affiliated with other professional accounting bodies of the world.

“If anybody determines to overcome the hurdle, he should maintain it with full dedication and sincerity. Most of the pre-senters and speakers depicted that once they have become students they are in the process of becoming a member of a professional body like ICMAB”, Md Abdur Rahman said.
