Newly launched commercial airline AIR ASTRA is set to open its first sales office at Nandan Tulip of Uttara in the capital today.
The privately owned Bangladeshi passenger airline announced the opening of its first sales office in a press statement on Saturday.
National award-winning actor Zahid Hassan will be inaugurating the sales office along with other officials from Air Astra.
The sales office aims to expand AIR ASTRA’s outreach to valued customers and trade partners and make travelling more convenient across its network throughout the country.

The airline was expected to commence its operation in January 2022. However, the dates were pushed forward further into 2022 and after acquiring their Air operator’s certificate the airline was cleared to commence its operations.
The airline inaugurated its operation with three weekly flights on Dhaka–Cox’s Bazar–Dhaka route and two weekly flights on Dhaka-Chattogram–Dhaka route. On February 23, this year, this new airline launched Dhaka - Sylhet flight for the first time.
Astra Airways Limited (dba ‘Air Astra’) was incorporated in Bangladesh under the Registrar of Joint-Stock Companies on July 2021.
Formed to operate as a scheduled airline for passengers and cargo, Air Astra envisages becoming a significant contributor to enhancing people’s connectivity within the country and abroad. In 2022 the airline’s fleet will stand at 4x ATR72-600 aircraft - the most modern, efficient, and eco-friendly turboprop airplane in production today - to ensure safe and timely journeys. Through 2023 the ATR72-600 fleet is planned to become 10 aircraft strong and from 2024 the airline will expand into international operations to markets with the most potential yield and demand.
