ICMAB accords reception to newly qualified CMAs

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) on Wednesday organised a reception programme for the newly qualified Cost and Management Accountants (CMAs) who passed the CMA January-2023 examination, at the Ruhul Quddus Auditorium in Nilkhet of Dhaka.

Successfully qualified twenty CMAs joined the event along with their family and close ones while other members and students of the Institute participated at the event to congratulate and celebrate their success, said a press statement.

ICMAB Secretary Md Kausar Alam in his welcome speech extended his heartfelt gratitude to congratulate all the newly qualified CMAs. He welcomed all the guests, council members and others at the programme. He stated that new CMAs have to improve their adaptability; only adoptable personnel will survive in the volatile world.

ICMAB Vice-President Mahtab Uddin Ahmed motivated newly qualified CMAs emphasising soft skill development. “To be part of the elite society, you have to bring changes in your behaviour”, he added.

Arif Khan, past president and present council member contributed to the event with his spontaneous and motivational words. “There is no shortcut in success, you have to work hard to keep yourself updated with the tune of the time”, he added.

Mohammed Salim congratulated the newly qualified CMAs. His precise and worthy words regarding ethics, values and the code of conduct of a professional accountant won the hearts of the audience.

Newly qualified CMAs also shared their feelings, and sacrifices towards the journey to be part of the CMA family. They are also firmly committed to upholding the flagship of the CMA profession.

ICMAB President Md Abdur Rahman Khan applauded the newly passed CMAs for their hard work and efforts to become a part of the prestigious CMA family. He encouraged them to continue the development process to become successful CMA professionals by focusing on standardized professional services and an ethical code of conduct.

At the end of the programme, the Treasurer of the Institute, Md Akhtaruzzaman, gave a vote of thanks. The grand and colourful celebration of the reception concluded with a cake cutting and dinner.

ICMAB was established with the prime objective of promoting and regulating the Cost and Management Accounting profession in the country and the Institute offers education and training to the students interested to pursue a career in this field and provides highly recognised CMA degrees on fulfilment of requisite qualifications. The Institute also undertakes research in relevant fields and is the sole authority to issue a practising license to its members.

Institute’s mission is to develop, equip and promote Cost and Management Accounting profession by maintaining the highest professional standard for its members to enable them to provide better services to society.

The Institute is entrusted with the formulation and implementation of National Accounting as well as Cost Accounting Standards and takes other necessary steps with a view to regulating the Cost and Management Accounting profession commensurate with global standards with the ultimate objective of developing Bangladesh’s human and natural resources to ensure common welfare and to enrich our shared future.
