Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd (DPDC) has announced ‘Power Service Week’ from May 7 to 13 on the occasion of Engineers Day-2023, with the aim of ensuring affordable and fast electricity services to its customers. The programme was inaugurated on Sunday at the DPDC Training Center of the capital.
Md Abdus Sabur, secretary of Science and Technology of Bangladesh Awami League and former deputy president of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) was present as the chief guest and DPDC Managing Director Bikash Dewan presided over the function.
This week, DPDC will aim to provide services to their customers promptly. New connections, load increase, meter and name changes, bill corrections as well as resolution of electricity-related complaints will be on the agenda, according to a press release.
Customers will also be made aware of safety issues and they will receive these services instantly through 36 NOCS divisions of DPDC.
DPDC’s Kazi Ashikur Rahman, a civil engineer in the DPDC’s Department of Design, Policy, Standards and Documents, received the Best Engineer-2023 award from the evaluators.
The attendees of the discussion program organised by DPDC were M Habbiur Rahman, vice chancellor, DUET, Md Nuruzzaman, vice president of IEB, Mohammad Hossain, director general of Power Cell; S M Monjurul Haque Monju, vice president of IEB and Md Shahadat Hossain, honorary general secretary of IEB.
