Samsung regained the top spot in the worldwide smartphone market during the first quarter of this year with a 22 per cent market share in global smartphone shipments.
Apple, which had been on top during Q4 of 2022, was next with a 21 per cent slice of the pie. During the fourth quarter of 2022, when Apple was the top smartphone shipper, the iPhone manufacturer had its largest global market share of all time at 25%.
Meanwhile, Samsung sold 60.6 million units in in the January to March period, reads a press statement recently, citing research conducted by global market research firm Canalys.
The South Korean tech giant’s success was driven by numerous factors, including robust supply chain management and a healthy supply-demand balance.
Also, the Galaxy S23 series sales increased in some regions, which also played a part in Samsung’s success.
