IRIIC, UIU, BAYLA sign deal for research collaboration

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Institute of Research, Innovation, Incubation and Commercialization (IRIIC), United International University (UIU), and Bangladesh Apparel Youth Leaders Association (BAYLA) for Industry-Academia Research Collaboration on Monday at UIU Campus of Madani Avenue in Dhaka.

UIU Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) Prof Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia presided over the ceremony where Prof Dr Khondaker Abdullah-Al-Mamun, director of IRIIC at UIU and Abrar Hossain Sayem, president of BAYLA signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.

Prof Dr M Rezwan Khan, Executive Director of IAR and Former VC of UIU along with the faculty members, high officials, and guests were present at the ceremony.

This MoU will promote collective research, innovation and high-quality publications in reputable journals, as well as facilitate cooperative research partnership opportunities between BAYLA and IRIIC. Researchers from academia and association will be benefited from this industry-academia collaboration in the area of research, innovation and commercialisation.

BAYLA is aiming to increase the market potential of the garment industry through development and diversification through targeted research, capacity building, increasing productivity, and creating new opportunities. The Institute of Research, Innovation, Incubation, and Commercialization (IRIIC), United International University (UIU) has a diverse workforce including engineers, doctors, statisticians, academicians, and highly qualified researchers in their respective fields.

IRIIC believes in providing youth opportunities for innovative and original research. Till now it has employed many undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and faculty members.
