The German Embassy in Dhaka and the German Business Council (GBC) jointly arranged a panel discussion session on ‘High Inflation and Slow Growth: Implications and Measures for German Firms in Bangladesh’ at the German Ambassador’s residence in Dhaka on Sunday.
Jan-Rolf Janowski, Chargé d’Affaires of the German Embassy in Dhaka delivered a welcome remark before joining the panel lauding the close cooperation between GBC and the German Embassy. Janowski greeted the attendees on an optimistic note, referring to Bangladesh’s vast potential and proven track record of resilience in overcoming grave challenges.
Dr Ahsan H Mansur, a prominent economist and executive director of Policy Research Institute, Bangladesh, was present at the event as a keynote speaker and panellist. The panel also include Syed Mahbubur Rahman, managing director and CEO of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd; Sazzadul Hassan, chairman and founder trustee of GBC and managing director and chairman of
BASF Bangladesh Ltd. Tawfiq Ali, managing trustee of GBC and chief representative commerzbank AG, Dhaka Representative Office moderated the panel.
The event was attended by representatives of the delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh, the senior leadership of various German firms in Bangladesh, as well as members of the media and development organisations.
