Seminar on Ayurvedic medicine held in Dhaka

A seminar on “Role of Ayurvedic medicine for prevention of diseases and beauty care of women” was held at the auditorium of the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) in the capital on Tuesday.

Medicinal Plants and Herbal Products Business Promotion Council (MPHPBPC) and Bangladesh Herbal Products Manufacturing Association (BHPMA) jointly organised the event where Director General Major General Mohammad Yousuf was present as the chief guest and Dhaka University Pharmacy Department Dean Prof Dr Shitesh Chandra Bachar was the special guest, said a press statement.

BHPMA President and Hamdard Laboratories WAQF Bangladesh Managing Director and Chief Mutawalli Dr Hakim Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan presided over the event.

Dr Hakim Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan said industry owners along with the government should come forth to prepare medicines with international standards. He also urged all to ensure easily accessible medical services for people through Ayurvedic, Unani and Herbal medicines.

In his speech, Mohammad Yousuf said Ayurvedic and herbal medicine industry has created a huge possibility in the country.
