ULAB holds training on Zotero, Turnitin for teachers

The Department of General Education (GED) of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and ULAB Library jointly organised two training sessions on Zotero: Citation and reference management tool and Turnitin: Similarity and plagiarism checker including Turnitin Draft Coach for the GED faculties.

As part of complying with SDG goals, GED facilitated this training programme which addressed the ‘SDG 4-Quality Education’ that was held on the ULAB campus on Thursday, said a press release.

The training sessions were conducted by the head of the ULAB Library, Joint Librarian KM Hasan Emam as an instructor who pointed out the significant technical aspects of the use of Turnitin software and Zotero for citation.

Faculties from different deferments and centres who teach in General Education participated in the training where Department of General Education (GED) Head Prof Dr Shahnaj Husne Jahan delivered a welcome speech.

Use of Turnitin and authentic citation software can play a vital role to enhance the quality of education, she stated and also assured that the faculties would provide necessary support regarding academic development in terms of arranging training, seminars or research works.
