Padma Bank customers can now send money to DPS thru’ Nagad

From now on, customers of Padma Bank Limited can send money instantly from Nagad wallet to their Deposit Pension Scheme (DPS).

They can also make loan payments using the mobile financial service (MFS) provider’s wallet, according to a press statement issued on Thursday.

Padma Bank Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin and Nagad Executive Director Maruful Islam Jhalak inaugurated the service on behalf of their respective organisations at Padma Bank Gulshan Office.

According to the press statement, through this service expansion with Nagad, the Postal Department’s digital financial wing, Padma Bank customers will enjoy a convenient, reliable, and secure service with the lowest charges.

On behalf of Padma Bank, SEVP and Head of CLMD Sabbir Mohammad Sayem, EVP and COO Syed Tauhid Hossain, Chief Information Technology Officer Md Mosharraf Hossain Khan, Head of Channels and Digital Banking Muhammad Zakaria Karim, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications Shayantani Twisha attended the programme.

Besides, from Nagad, Deputy General Manager of Business Sales Md Bayezid and Md Mehdi were also present on the occasion.

Padma Bank Limited, under the majority ownership of state-owned Sonali Bank, Janata Bank, Agrani Bank, Rupali Bank, and ICB, has been providing banking services to customers through 60 branches, sub-branches and agent banking outlets across the country. Remittance services are provided at all branches of Padma Bank.

Meanwhile, under the innovative and century-old financial authority of the Bangladesh Post Office, Nagad was launched by the prime minister on March 26, 2019. It aims to provide a comprehensive digital and ever-evolving financial service to the country’s people and small businesses.

Since its launch, Nagad has set remarkable benchmarks. The MFS provider has achieved a customer count of 5.85 Crores, Uddokta count of 2.40 lakhs, and a daily transaction of Tk 700 crore, according to its website.

In recognition of its achievements during its young life, Nagad has won many awards, including the Digital Marketing Award, December 2021, Bronze in the ‘App Marketing’ category for the “T20 Quiz” campaign, Fintech Impact Award, November 2021.
