ActionAid International Bangladesh Society (AAIBS) has held its 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM) online on Tuesday.
Members of the general assembly, executive board, participants, and observers joined the AGM from different parts of the country, as well as from abroad, ActionAid Bangladesh said in a statement.
The meeting was convened by Anowara Aana Aman, member of the general assembly and executive board of AAIBS. The meeting commenced with one-minute silence in remembrance of late Syed Nurul Alam, general assembly member of AAIBS.
AAIBS Chairperson Manzoor Hasan, in his opening speech, welcomed the newly elected executive board members- Anowara Aana Aman, Taslima Yasmin and Rebecca Sultana. He looked forward to them becoming an integral part of the board and governance of AAIBS and further the mission, vision, and values of ActionAid.
ActionAid Bangladesh Country Director Farah Kabir, also the Ex-Officio Secretary of the AAIBS Executive Board, appreciated the contributions of the members of the general assembly and the executive board.
She mentioned that they played a significant role in ensuring the resilience of the organization, enabling it to deliver on its commitments to the community and all other stakeholders. She reminded all present that board and governance of ActionAid is a unique feature in the landscape of INGOs in Bangladesh.
The general assembly members approved the Annual Audit Report of the organisation for the year 2021 and appointed the Principal Auditor for the year 2022.
Major achievements for policy influencing, programmatic innovation, partnership and fundraising have been captured in the Annual Report 2021 which was approved by the general assembly during the AGM.
The meeting was adjourned with the announcement of next year AGM to be held in 2023.
