Banglalink, the second largest telecom operator in Bangladesh, has become the highest download speed provider, according to the Speedtest Global Index 2023.
Speedtest published the ranking of mobile and fixed broadband speeds from around the world on monthly basis.
Among the top mobile operators in Bangladesh in Q4 2022, Banglalink delivered the fastest median download speed at 19.00 Mbps, Speedtest Intelligence revealed.
The country’s largest mobile operator Grameenphone was reported to be providing 14.16 Mbps to its huge customer base while Airtel provides the speed at 10.85 Mbps, Robi at 10.61 Mbps, Teletalk at 5.29 Mbps.
In terms of latency, Speedtest’s mobile multi-server latency results did not show a statistical winner during Q4 2022.
Banglalink provides latency 41ms, Grameenphone 41 ms, Airtel 45ms, and Robi 46ms while the state-run Teletalk 75 ms.
In terms of consistency of each operator’s performance, the Speedtest Intelligence found that Banglalink had the highest consistency in Bangladesh during Q4 of 2022 with 79.7 per cent of results showing at least a 5 Mbps minimum download speed and 1 Mbps minimum upload speed.
Consistency of Banglalink was 79.7 per cent while that of Grameenphone was 75.9 per cent, Airtel was 62.6 per cent, Robi 61.7 per cent and Teletalk 48.3 per cent.
