Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited officially launched Green PIN (Personal Identification Number) service with the aim of providing fast and secure banking services to its clients.
The bank’s Chairman Mohammed Younus inaugurated the service as the chief guest at a ceremony held in Dhaka on Wednesday, said a press release.
Managing Director and CEO Mosleh Uddin Ahmed delivered speech at the ceremony.
Among others, Vice-Chairman Mohiuddin Ahmed, Directors- Md Sanaullah Shahid, Abdul Karim, Md Abdul Barek, Akkas Uddin Mollah, Khandaker Shakib Ahmed, Fakir Akhtaruzzaman and Fakir Mashrikuzzaman, Independent Directors- Ekramul Haque and KAM Majedur Rahman, Additional Managing Directors- Abdul Aziz, SM Mainuddin Chowdhury and M Akhter Hossain, Deputy Managing Directors- Md Shahjahan Shiraj and Imtiaz U Ahmed, Company Secretary Md Abul Bashar and CFO Md Jafar Sadeq were also present at the ceremony.
Head of Card Division Md Marufur Rahman Khan presented all the features of Green PIN.
Shahjalal Islami Bank introduced paperless Personal Identification Number (PIN) for its Debit/Credit/Pre-paid cardholders as part of the bank’s commitment to support green banking.
Green PIN is an instant PIN generation process from Shahjalal Islami Bank’s secure web and by scanning QR Code from Mobile device. By this, the bank’s Credit/Debit/Prepaid Cardholders can easily set their PIN (Personal Identification Number) in a secure way.
This system eliminates paper based traditional PIN set. Paperless PIN generation is one of the bank’s customer centric and green banking initiatives. It also significantly simplifies the manual process of paper-based PIN printing thereby reducing carbon footprint, said the release.
