Veteran banker Shawkat Ali Chowdhury passed away at the age of 75 on April 25, 2022 at his residence in Uttara after suffering from illness, said a statement issued on Monday.
Shawkat Ali Chowdhury became Managing Director of IFIC bank in 1994. He joined as the founder Managing Director of Dutch Bangla Bank Limited in 1995 and played his role till 1998. He also served as the Executive President of Al Baraka Bank (Bangladesh) Limited during 2001-2002.
The veteran banker hailed from Habiganj. He started his banking career joining United Bank Limited as a Probationary Officer in 1966 and completed 36 years of banking with good reputation.
