The Embassy of Bangladesh in Stockholm arranged a ´Tagore Concert´ in celebration of the 110th Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore's Nobel Prize Win on Monday. Rabindranath Tagore won the Nobel Prize in Literature on November 13 in 1913.

The event was organised by the Embassy of Bangladesh in collaboration with ´Lund International Tagore Choir´, who are a Swedish group of singers of Rabindranath Tagore´s songs in the original Bengali language, read a press release on Tuesday.

Foreign diplomats, government officials, academicians, artists, and cultural enthusiasts joined this event by the Embassy to honor Tagore's literary genius and the profound impact he has had on both Bengali and global literature.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome extended to all attendees by Mehdi Hasan, ambassador of Bangladesh to Sweden.

Expressing his deep admiration for Rabindranath Tagore, the Ambassador highlighted the significance of Tagore's Nobel Prize win in acknowledging his brilliance in Bengali literature.

He also mentioned that Tagore wrote the national anthem of both Bangladesh and India and Tagore´s literary work is deeply embedded in the everyday life of the people of both Bengal.

The Ambassador of India Tanmaya Lal talked about Tagore´s life, his literature, and his contribution to both India and Bangladesh.

Then, ´Lund International Tagore Choir´ performed Tagore songs in the concert in the original Bengali language. This choir captivated the senses of the guests with their performance and honored the profound influence of Rabindranath Tagore by describing the cultural richness and artistic excellence of Tagore´s songs.

The foreign diplomats, government officials, and other guests expressed their joy to be able to attend the ´Tagore Concert´ in celebration of the 110th anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore's Nobel Prize.

They commented that the event left a memorable impression on them and they were delighted to know Rabindranath Tagore's unparalleled contributions to literature, music, and art.

Lastly, Ambassador Mehdi Hasan expressed his gratitude and thanks to the artists, performers, invited guests, and all concerned for making the event a success.
