Shamsul Alam re-elected councilor in Finland

Bangladesh expatriate Shamsul Alam has been re-elected the councilor of Kerava city in Finland. He held the office in 2017 after his first victory in the city elections.

Shamsul Alam participated in the elections from the ruling coalition and his victory has brought streams of joy and pride among the Bengali community in Finland. Relatives, well-wishers and local people congratulated him on his victory.

Shamsul Alam, son of Mozahed Uddin Ahmed, hails from Ibrahimpur village of Nabinagar upazila under Brahmanbaria district.

He moved to Finland in 2010 and joined the country's Left Alliance Party. Six years later he got the ticket to run in the Kerava City Council elections and he came out victorious.
