Zahangir Alam elected new ICSB council member

Md Zahangir Alam Manik has been elected as a new council member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB).

He won the by-election held on Saturday on the institute premises in Dhaka, according to a press release on Sunday.

Total three candidates contested the by-poll and a good number of members of the institute gathered to cast their votes.

Zahangir Alam is serving as the chairman of Dhaka Regional Chapter subcommittee of ICSB. He is a well-known personality in the Income Tax and VAT Management sector in Bangladesh, read the release.

He is also the company secretary of the state-owned power generation company, B-R Powergen Limited, under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

He is also the founder, council member and chairman of the Foundation of Chartered Taxation of Bangladesh (FCTB) which is a non-profit organisation engaged in tax awareness, research, tax education, innovation and revenue literacy.
