A Chinese National Emergency Medical Team will arrive in Dhaka on Sunday to provide advanced medical treatment to individuals severely injured during the July-August protests in Bangladesh.
The decision to dispatch the team was made by Beijing at the request of the interim government's Chief Adviser Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus, according to the Chinese embassy in Dhaka.
The team, consisting of 10 medical experts from West China Hospital, one of China's leading healthcare institutions, is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on flight MU2035 from Kunming at 1:35 pm, an embassy official confirmed on Saturday.
The embassy will issue a detailed statement on the team's activities on Sunday, he added.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen, along with senior officials from the health ministry, will be present at the airport to welcome the team.
