President of CIS-BCCI (Commonwealth of Independent States-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry) Mohammad Ali Deen paid a courtesy call to Russian Ambassador in Dhaka Alexander Vikentyevich Mantytskiy on Wednesday at the embassy office.

CIS-BCCI President Mohammad Ali Deen highlighted the activities of the CIS-BCCI Chamber in the private sector forum for promoting the trade and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and CIS Countries with special focus on Russia.

He emphasised on the potentiality of the Russian market for Bangladesh in a bid to diversify the country’s export market as well as diversification of products.

Deen pointed out, “In order to augment our export on RMG (Readymade Garments), Garments Accessories, Pharmaceuticals, Leather goods, seafood and other products, the Russian market should be tapped fully.”

He further underscored on improving connectivity with Russia through shipping cargo, warehouse facilities in Russia and adequate banking facilities for smooth transaction in business.

He also requested for more simplification of Business Visas for the genuine businessmen for easy and frequent travel.

In response, Alexander Vikentyevich Mantytskiy reciprocated the idea saying that both Russian and Bangladesh are engaged in deep friendship right after Bangladesh’s liberation, and emphasised on widening the scope for furthering bilateral trade and commerce.

He proposed to have a Russian Trade Fair in Dhaka to be organized by the Russian Embassy in Dhaka and CIS-BCCI sometime in September/October 2024.

CIS-BCCI President Mohammad Ali Deen expressed hope that business transactions with Russia will further grow if Taka/Ruble currency can be exchanged in Import/Export.

CIS-BCCI is also going to take “Russian Business Language Course” at the Chamber for facilitating the businessmen of the country to have easy business communication with Russian counterparts, he added.

CIS-BCCI President Mohammad Ali Deen, Vice President Jadab Debnath, Director Salma Hossain Ash and Adviser Mahbub Islam Runu were present at the meeting among others.
