The Embassy of France in Dhaka, in response to a widespread rumour in social media platforms, on Wednesday denied allegations that it is sheltering the former state minister for information and broadcasting Mohammad A Arafat.
On the official X [formerly Twitter] account, the French Embassy posted, “The rumor propagated on social media that ex minister Arafat is hiding in French Embassy is a complete lie.”
Arafat used to serve as the state minister for information under Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government, which fell on August 5 following a mass uprising.
