Bangladeshi expatriates sent $1.79 billion in remittances in just 23 days of the current month ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
The figure is higher than the entire month of May because remitters usually send more money to their relatives before Eid.
In May, Bangladesh received $1.69 billion in remittances, which was 10.27 per cent low than the same month of the previous year, show the Bangladesh Bank data.
