Three international expos on building construction, woodworking, electrical products, and technology began under a single umbrella in Dhaka on Thursday.

ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd in collaboration with Futurex Trade Fair and Events Pvt Ltd organised the expos at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).

Titled '7th Bangladesh BUILDCON International Expo 2023,' '7th Bangladesh WOOD International Expo 2023,' and '2nd Bangladesh ELPROTECH International Expo 2023,' these trade shows collectively provide a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements and products. With over 150 exhibitors from different countries, including China and India, the expos offer valuable opportunities for visitors to explore and source from a diverse array of international and local suppliers.

The expo will be open to all from 11 am to 7 pm between November 23 and 25.

Md Shamsuddoha, additional chief engineer of the Housing and Public Works Department (PWD), remarked, "It's the perfect time for this kind of exhibition in Bangladesh. We are all involved in this, and we will learn about all types of building materials from this fair. New entrepreneurs can take new business ideas from here because it is a global sector resulting in new opportunities."

Nanda Gopal Kadambi, director of ASK Exhibitions, stated, "After a three-year gap, we organised these three international expos under one umbrella, where more than 150 exhibitors can showcase their products. Some are here for the first time, eager to offer their world-class products to us."

He added, "Bangladesh has been growing gradually with steady growth, an upward mobile middle class, and high purchasing power. This has led to good growth in the building sector, with numerous flyovers and expressways already built in different parts of the country."

After a pandemic-induced hiatus, Chinese exhibitors have returned for the current edition, presenting a compelling array of products for sourcing. Additionally, 70 Indian exhibitors participated, with the Confederation of Indian Industry extending a hearty welcome to business visitors.

Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, managing director of ASK Exhibitions, stated, "Over the years, stakeholders have utilised our events as a platform to connect with a diverse range of international suppliers, who have been a significant presence. We anticipate that the convergence of three shows under a unified umbrella will offer visitors extensive and favourable sourcing opportunities."
