Forum leaders invited BGMEA members to an open and interactive discussion session held at Dhaka’s Uttara Club on Thursday.
Responding to the invitation, 150 entrepreneurs of different factories spontaneously attended the programme. Members’ speech and opinions dominated the session instead of leaders talking to members, read a press release.
Entrepreneurs voiced their concerns over 32 different issues notably duplication of HS code, increasing good understanding with government agencies, improving ease of doing business, exit policy, getting reasonable price of products and so forth.
Forum Panel Leader Faisal Samad responded to all 32 points with his vision and mission with resolve to tackle each challenge.
Faisal reiterated that BGMEA must work in the interest of its members. He urged members to hold their confidence on Forum Panel because forum is a platform which stood the test of time.
The panel leader, in reference to the Covid-19 pandemic, mentioned that with the gracious support of the prime minister, they managed to prevent any factory layoffs.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the prime minister's ongoing support to the RMG sector. Forum President Abdus Salam, General Secretary Asif Ibrahim, former presidents and directors of BGMEA Board were also present during the session.
