A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and International Labor Organization (ILO) on Monday in the BIDA conference hall in Dhaka.
In the presence of BIDA Executive Chairman Sirajul Islam, the MoU was signed by Mohsina Yasmin, executive member of BIDA and Tumo Pautiainen, the country director of ILO Bangladesh on behalf of their respective organizations, said a press release.
Under the MoU, ILO will provide assistance to BIDA in certain areas of one-stop service. In particular, making investment services easier, faster, and more modern and providing necessary logistics to BIDA.
Sirajul Islam, executive chairman of BIDA, while speaking as the chief guest, said that since 2019, BIDA has provided investment services to more than seventy-five thousand investors through a one-stop service and at the same time making the investment service more easy, affordable and fast.
“BIDA is happy to cooperate with ILO to our one-stop service system, investors will get more investment services, and at the same time, the time spent on setting up their business will be greatly reduced,” he added.
While speaking as the special guest at the event, Tumo Pautiainen, country director of ILO Bangladesh, said, “Investing in occupational safety reduces workplace risks and protects businesses.
According to the MoU, the ILO will cooperate with BIDA in various areas for the next 1 year.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by other senior officials of BIDA and ILO.
