The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) hosted an iftar and doa mahfil to regale ambassadors, diplomats, and dignitaries at the Hotel Sheraton in the capital on Wednesday.

Ministers, members of parliament, ambassadors, editors of media outlets and the country’s top businessmen also attended the event, read a press release.

FBCCI President Jashim Uddin said, “This month is a time of charity and compassion, and I urge you to support those in need and contribute to worthy causes that make a difference in the lives of our fellow citizens.

“Bangladesh has a rich cultural heritage and a history of hospitality. It is a land of diversity, with people from different faiths and backgrounds living together in harmony. This diversity is reflected in our food, our music, our art, and our traditions. I am proud to say that Bangladesh is a country that celebrates all religious occasions in unity.”

The FBCCI chief called upon the diplomats and the business echelons to bridge the gaps among countries to promote mutual understanding and respect. He said that Bangladesh offers a thriving business focal point for attracting business and trade.

The guests prayed for the country’s economic development and the peace, and welfare of its people.

Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Planning Minister MA Mannan, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, Prime Minister's advisor for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Former FBCCI President Abdul Awal Mintoo, Senior Vice President Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Vice Presidents MA Momen, Md Amin Helaly, Salahuddin Alamgir, Md Habib Ullah Dawn, MA Razzak Khan Raj, Ambassadors of India, Germany, Indonesia, Iran, Turkey, Norway, Kosovo, Thailand, Libya, Philippines, and Brunei were also present on the occassion.
