Hasib, Apu elected president, GS of DCAB; Mamun joint scey

Dhaka Tribune Special Correspondent Nurul Islam Hasib and ATN News Chief Reporter Ashiqur Rahman Apu have been elected president and general secretary, respectively, of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) for the year 2024.

While, Arifuzzaman Mamun (Diplomatic Correspondent of Amader Shomoy) has been elected as Joint Secretary.

BSS Diplomatic Correspondent Md Tanzim Anwar and The Industry Diplomatic Correspondent Rabiul Haque have jointly been elected Vice President, said a media release.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of DCAB was held at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Sunday.

Outgoing DCAB President Rezaul Karim Lotus chaired the AGM while outgoing General Secretary Emrul Kayesh and Treasurer Atiq Ahmad presented their respective reports.

UNB Editor Farid Hossain conducted the election as the chief election commissioner. Daily Observer Business Editor Nizam Ahmed and Maasranga TV Chief Editor Rejonaul Haq acted as election commissioners.

Other elected office bearers are Treasurer Atiqur Rahman (Diplomatic Correspondent of Daily Jababdihi) and Office Secretary Morshed Hassib Hasan (Senior Correspondent of Channel 24).

Five elected executive members are Channel I Special Correspondent Pantho Rahaman, The Financial Express Special Correspondent Mir Mostafizur Rahaman, DBC News Diplomatic Correspondent Israt Jahan Urmi, The Daily Star Diplomatic Correspondent Porimol Palma and bdnews24.com Diplomatic Correspondent Masum Billah.
