The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) has elected its new president, and vice presidents of the Institute for the year 2023.
Md Moniruzzaman has been elected as president, while Md Yasin Miah, MBM Lutful Hadee and Md Johirul Islam as vice presidents, read an ICAB press release.
The new office bearers were elected by the members of the Council at the Council Meeting held on Saturday, which was presided over by the current ICAB President Md Shahadat Hossain.
Md Moniruzzaman will take over as the president of ICAB on 01 January 2023. He is a senior partner of ACNABIN Chartered Accountants and served ICAB as the vice president for Operations & Members Services for 2019.
Presently, Moniruzzaman is a Board Member of the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) and also a member of the Academic Committee of the Faculty of Business Studies of the University of Dhaka.
Md Yasin Miah is the proprietor of MM Yasin, Chartered Accountants.
He is also the chairman of P 4 Consulting Limited and a VAT Consultant – NBR and Member, IIA- Florida, USA. Md Yasin Miah FCA has been a faculty member of ICAB for the last 15 years.
He is a Trainer of VAT & SD Act 2012.
MBM Lutful Hadee is the proprietor of Hadee Lutful & Co (HLC), Chartered Accountants, a dynamic consulting and advisory firm in the country.
He worked at Citycell (a SingTel Subsidiary), GP (a Telenor Subsidiary) and MFH Financial Services Ltd (a Merchant Bank) for more than 10 years in the Department of Finance, Taxation, Legal, Corporate and Secretarial Affairs.
Hadee has been serving on the Standing Committee of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) on Customs, VAT, Taxation & NBR Related Issues.
Md Johirul Islam is a partner of A Qasem & Co, Chartered Accountants, a member firm of Ecovis International.
He is a senior member of the Chittagong District Bar Association and Chittagong Taxes Bar Association. He is a lifetime member of Ma-o Shishu Hospital, the Kidney Foundation and the Diabetic association of Bangladesh.
