Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) held its 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at a hotel in Dhaka on Friday.
In the opening remarks, ICSB Secretary and CEO Md Zakir Hossain welcomed all members to the AGM, reports BSS.
Mohammad Asad Ullah, president of the institute, presided over the meeting and presented the council report for the year 2023. In his speech, he highlighted the major activities and achievements of the institute during the year 2023.
He also highlighted several major events and milestones – holding the 10th ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence 2022, conducting training sessions, CPD programmes and seminars; unveiling new website; launching Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), signing MoUs with different organisations; being recognised as a profession by an Act of Parliament in the Income Tax Act, 2023; receiving verdict on the land case in favour of ICSB at Aftab Nagar.
He also thanked the members for their valuable suggestions and relentless cooperation towards the development of the institute.
A large number of members were present at the meeting and participated in the discussion on the annual report. They appreciated the performance of the institute. They also asserted that the council is working hard to successfully achieve the targets committed earlier and also to materialise the long cherished dream to bring the institute to a new height in turning it into a “Centre of Excellence”.
The audited financial statements of the institute for the year ended on December 31, 2023, were presented by the ICSB Treasurer Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun before the members. The members approved the council report and financial statements of the institute.
During the meeting, A Qasem & Co - Chartered Accountants was appointed as the external auditors of the institute for the year 2024.
Senior Vice-President M Nurul Alam, Vice-President AKM Mushfiqur Rahman, council members, fellow and associate members were also present at the meeting.
